L.D. Edgar
Western Historical Artist

L.D. Edgar is one of our most important Western Historical Artists. Larry was born and raised in Wyoming. He has been interested in history, archaeology and art since childhood. He knew that creating western historical art was to be his destined goal. He studied and worked under the tutelage of Adolph Spohr and attended Wyoming College, majoring in Fine Arts. He was also inspired and influenced by his friend, the famous artist and illustrator, Nick Eggenhoffer. Larry is known for his detail and attention to clothing, firearms, tack and other accouterments in his oil paintings. He has won several Wyoming State Historical Fine Arts Awards. Bronze sculpture became a new creative discipline for Larry in the late 80’s. He has won numerous prestigious awards for his bronzes ever since. Larry’s work has been seen on the Covers of Wild West Magazine and several non-fiction western history books.
