Jay Brooks

Jay Brooks is a nationally know artist. Jay grew up on 88 acres of farmland where his inspiration was the land and the seasons. Brooks received his B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon in 1988. He also has an M.F.A. from Columbia. Brooks has exhibited around the country to include Jackson Hole and galleries in New York City. Brooks paints the West as well as the Catskill Mountain region in Up State New York where he now lives. Brooks had three pieces in the select top of the National Arts for The Parks in 2001.


He was a sell-out for three seasons at the Jerico Fine Arts Gallery in New York. Brooks was introduced to the “en plein aire” method of landscape painting by Charles Movalli, and the late British “maestro”, John Piesley. Jay has been featured in American Artist Magazine.
