Charles has been active as a weaver since he began his career in an artist’s community in Georgia back in the 1960’s. He has traveled extensively in Europe, Africa and Asia to study delicate grass weavings and matting. He uses the bold colors of Africa, cotton designs of dhurries in India and the geometric patterns of the Nepalese and Tibetan prayer rugs in his own designs. Each weaving is one of a kind which he creates on a Harrisville Loom. Weavings are designed to be a saddle blanket but they are also
a wall hanging or an area rug or a table cloth.
