Jay Brooks
grew up on 90 acres of farmland in upstate NY, and has always had the landscape as an integral part of his life and art. At a young age, Brooks began painting under the classical apprenticeship of John Piesley and the plein-air instruction of Charles Movalli.
Brooks received his BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University then his MFA from Columbia University. After teaching art in New York City, Brooks moved to the Upper Delaware River region of Sullivan County, NY. Here, Brooks is surrounded by the countless lavish Delaware River scenes that he depicts in his artwork.
Brooks has exhibited around the country, including Jackson Hole and galleries in New York City. Four of his paintings were in the select top for "Arts for the Parks" in 2001.
Jay's work is displayed in many corporate and national collations including Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, Mckinsey and Company, US Dept of State, Hallmark Cards, PP&G, Pen Med, The Equitable Corporation, Pfizer and has been featured in American Artist magazine.
